Playgroup for Families for whom English is not their Home Language

I am so excited to share that we had 9 families join us for our
first parent-child playgroup for families with home languages other than English here at ECDC!

Families were exposed to concepts and vocabulary that we will be covering here at school over the next few weeks during our Fall Harvest unit.

Apples are another fun fall activity and students participated in an apple exploration and taste test with
Miss Marsha from Self Help CFCE.

Miss Sha and a couple of her friends talked about feeding and caring for babies (always a classroom favorite)!

Raking leaves is a big New England activity and students were taught how to
hold the rake and how fun it can be to rake leaves!

At the end of the session, Miss Marsha and Miss Randi sang a couple of songs and families all joined in!

Families went home with a packet which included visuals of key vocabulary words tied to the unit and information on local farms they can visit as a family.

Feedback from families was overwhelmingly positive and the next play group is scheduled for November 10th!
