Out Door Play-Dress for the Weather!

Here at ECDC we believe strongly in building in opportunities for large motor play. The more children can run and move, the more likely they are to retain information and, believe it or not,  to slow down enough to focus and attend to the learning at hand. That said, as it get colder, we may not be able get outside, or to stay outside as long. But if we can, even for just 10 minutes, we will so please dress your child for the cold!  Each morning we look at this chart to make decisions about indoor or outdoor play.
We do also consider the time of day, the temperature at that time and the windchill as well. If it is too cold or too wet or even too hot to be outside, teachers find other ways to ensure student have time to move: dancing, skipping, walking around the building, playing movement games, or even taking a trip to our Motor Room.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call the main office.
